Junior Street Drag Racing is a fun and affordable way for 13-16 year olds to get to the track and do some competitive racing. All you need is your parents’ vehicle, your parent and 2 helmets!
The NHRA introduced their newest youth racing program for in 2015. This program gives teenagers the opportunity to race against their peers in full-bodied street vehicles with an adult co-pilot as their teammate. This program combines drag racing and car safety for an exhilarating youth sport. Competitors in the NHRA Jr. Street Drag Racing program will go through an orientation/licensing procedure on an eighth-mile dragstrip in their vehicles. Approved vehicles must be registered, insured, street-legal vehicles with mufflers and street tires and limited to 9 seconds and slower.
