New 2007 photo/video credentials

Requests for credentials (other than those listed below) to the NHRA Lucas Oil race and National Open must go through NHRA here.

Identified newspaper, televison and radio media are asked to contact MRP Media Director Larry Pfister within one week of attending these two events. If you simply show up at the gate and expect to get in you may have to wait for an extended period until a rep can attend to you.

Those with yearly MRP passes are ok and do not need to do anything more.

For 2007 MRP will have two colored restricted area media passes. One for the All Event persons listed below. Another color for everyone else. Must be worn in clear view at all times when on the property.

Video requests to shoot NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series or NHRA O’Reilly Jr. Drag Racing League must go through official NHRA Video Services HERE.

'All Event' credentialed photographers/videographers
If requested, all credentialed persons must be prepared to submit a full sample of any and all material produced (edited and/or non-edited original quality media) while on the property. This material can then be used by MRP in any track promotional manner without any compensation in return other than credit. Track use only, your work will not be made available to any individuals or businesses other than the track owners for official track use.

Freelance media photographers must have editor contact track at least two weeks before event with letter of intent to publish. No selling of photos or video allowed.

Class or Sponsor photographers/videographers
Classes, other than official MRP brackets, (such as Doorslammers, NHRDA ,etc) allowed to bring in one personal photographer and/or videographer to shoot for a specific class or sponsor only. Must leave restricted area when their class or sponsored vehicles have finished running. Must submit request for credentials no later than seven days before event. Season long pass may be available on request. No other sales allowed. A limited number of these passes will be made available because of so many classes and sponsors. If a class or sponsor requires photos or videos and cannot get their own shooter in, MRP has a large number of shooters who are available for hire.

Other track photographer/videographers
Officially recognized (with letter from track manager) NHRA Track Photographers must apply one month before requested event and be shooting for official track, website or media use. No personal shooting, no sales while at the track. Excessive and blatant sales after the event may effect future pass availability. Full access available unless quota is full. First come first serve. Maximum three passes available per event. Please note you still must go through NHRA for Lucas and/or National Open credentials.

Other web photographers/videographers
(Ie: message boards, personal sites, club sites etc.)

Maximum two passes per event available, first come first serve. Available for one day events, two day events (Saturday only), three day events (Friday only). Multi day passes not available. Must put request in writing. No selling of photos or video or any commercial use allowed.

Freelance or professional photographers/videographers
Will be dealt with on an individual basis. No sales or commercial use allowed without written permission of MRP. Must submit letter of intent one month before requested event. Student photographers/videographers can request restricted area passes on Friday Test n Tune and Friday night events only. One pass per person per season. Must submit letter of intent. No selling of photos or video allowed.

Media Safety rules
Failure to respond to a track official request to move from what may be deemed as an unsafe location will result in immediate removal of all credentials for the entire season. NO exceptions.

Photographer/videographer rules: (except All Event pass holders)

  1. Cannot move down track past the orange cone beside the guardrail. Moving of which will result in your immediate and permanent removal from restricted area.
  2. NO over the wall access. MUST cross the track behind water burnout area only.
  3. NO restricted area top end access.
  4. Access to the center/starter area, starting line available on request. Failure to ask may result in removal of pass.
  5. Friday night only passes are not currently available.

Photo/Video Sales
Because of many past problems, MRP is now treating this aspect of work in a very serious manner.

Please note the rules regarding selling for each type of credential holder. Any sales beyond what you are allowed may result in removal of future credentials.

Anyone seeking images or video for personal use is urged to contact any of the 'All Event' photographers. Anyone seeking commercial use of any image or video clip shot on the property is urged to contact the track before such use to make certain no releases are required.

Should a company or persons require shooters other than officially credentialed MRP people, you will need to contact a track official directly well before your intended shoot. Requests at the time of the event will not be allowed because of the many other shooters we are already dealing with.

For 2007 there will be official signage at each gate informing any and all persons entering the property of their consent to be used in official track photo and video productions. Please note this consent is for official track use only not for the use of credentialed photographers and/or videographers.

If you have any questions regarding any of the rules and procedures either prior to, after an event, or at the event please contact Larry Pfister, official track photographer/videographer, Mission Raceway Park.

Though MRP tries to work with as many photographers and videographers as possible, at any time, track offcials reserve the right to restrict the number of passes available for any race event.

Questions regarding media rules please e-mail Larry Pfister
